First stop is a visit the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, located on the Tina peninsular. Built by famous architect Renzo Piano, the Tjibaou Cultural Center stands as witness to both the traditional and the modern Melanesian cultures.

Go on now to Oua Tom; en route you'll discover the ‘cowboy country' of the West Coast, with its large cattle ranches and Niaouli-covered hills.
Enjoy a Bougna lunch at Oua Tom tribal village - this traditional kanak dish is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked under red-hot stones.
In the afternoon, explore the village and its ‘Grande Case' (meeting hut), the most important building in any Melanesian village. Leave Oua Tom and stop at a Niaouli Distillery. The Niaouli is endemic to New Caledonia and its essence is used in perfumes, sweets and pharmaceutical products.
