Leave the hotel and climb Ouen Toro Hill for a panoramic view over Noumea and seawards to the tropical islets and blue waters protected by the barrier reef.
From Ouen Toro, drive along the palm-lined Promenade Pierre Vernier, with its views out to the surrounding islands and the lagoon. Visit the suburb of Faubourg Blanchot and pass the Military Barracks at the top of Avenue de la Victoire.
Head for the colourful and lively Noumea markets, where you'll see the many types of reef and deep sea fish, from Marlin and Tuna to Sardines and Parrot-fish, a large variety of local vegetables and fruit plus displays of local arts and crafts. After the markets, continue to the City Museum where you will learn everything about the Caledonian capital !

Enjoy a full tour of Coconut Square, the heart of Noumea, where, in season, the flame trees colour the town red. Continue past the city's shops to the FOL ( local arts building) for a magnificent view over the city.

We then head to Baie des Citrons to visit the Aquarium. A visit to the new, large, modern Aquarium is a journey through New Caledonia's diverse marine world. Leave land behind, as you enter through the waterfall which flows down the outside walls of the building. Discover the lakes and rivers which make up New Caledonia, then continue down towards the coast and its mangroves, reaching the magnificent reefs in the lagoon and finally diving into the depths of the ocean.

Return to your hotel via Anse Vata Bay.
