DAY 1: NOUMEA / SARRAMEA (121 Km)

Pick up your Cat. B rental car (Cat. C for 3 persons) the morning and head North. We recommend a visit to the Niaouli Distillery at Boulouparis - The Niaouli is a tree and its essence is used in perfumes and medicinal products. After La Foa, we advise to turn right towards the Oua Tom tribal village to taste a traditional Melanesian dish: the Bougna (a mix of chicken, local yams and other vegetables, cooked in banana leaves) at Marie Georgette's place (to be booked in advance). Take the time to look around the village before continuing on to Sarramea.

DAY 2: SARRAMEA

Day at leisure - we recommend driving further into the valley to the "Vergers d'Amieu" (Amieu Orchards); bushwalking on the Dogny Plateau; or swimming in the Feillet swimming hole!

DAY 3: SARRAMEA (Day trip to Bourail)

We advise a visit of Fort Teremba. Head towards Bourail, and en route visit Fort Teremba. You'll learn a lot about the region when you visit this ancient military base, which was built by convicts at the end of the 19th Century.
On arrival at Bourail, visit the beach and the "Roche Percée", a spectacular cliff pierced by caves, together with the "Bonhomme" rock formation, an enormous hard quartz monolith, carved by the waves. See the view over the Baie des Tortues (Turtle Bay), a pretty beach bordered by pine trees.

Day 4: SARRAMEA / NOUMEA

En route to Noumea, take the road towards Paita and drive up to the Koghi mountains.
We advise lunch at L'Auberge des Monts Koghis (not included). A walk towards the waterfall is recommended!
Drop off your hire car at your Noumea hotel before 6 p.m.
