DAY 2 : NOUMEA / KONE (274 km - 3h15) - Saturday

Pick up your car rental at your hotel in Noumea (category B for 2 persons or Cat C for 3 persons - full insurance and unlimited mileage.
In the morning, depart to the north of the Main land. First stop will be a visit to the Niaouli Distillery at Boulouparis - The Niaouli is a common tree in New Caledonia and it's essence is used in perfumes and medicinal products.
If you are arriving close to La Foa at lunch time, turn right towards the Oua Tom tribal village. There Marie Georgette can welcome you for a local meal (to be booked in advance)!
After lunch, take the time to look around the tribe and then La Foa village before continuing on to Kone.

DAY 3 : KONE / HIENGHENE (120 km - 1h25) - Sunday

Leave your hotel and take the cross road « Koné - Tiwaka » to reach the west coast.
Arriving in Hienghène from the south, you'll drive along the Lindéralique Rocks, impressive black limestone cliffs which are up to 60 meters high.

DAY 4 : HIENGHENE / POINDIMIE (73 km - 50 min) – Monday

In the afternoon, take the road to Poindimié, the central point of the East coast.
Drive along the coast road with its rivers, valleys and views over the lagoon.

DAY 5 : POINDIMIE / SARRAMEA (208 Km- 2h25) - Tuesday

Before crossing the mountain by way of Fruit Bat Pass (col des Roussettes), stop at the Bâ waterfall (cascade de Bâ) at Houailou and its 15m diameter natural water hole.
On arrival at Bourail, visit the beach and the "Roche Percée", a spectacular cliff pierced by caves, together with the "Bonhomme" rock formation, an enormous hard quartz monolith carved by the waves. See the view over the Baie des Tortues (Turtle Bay), a pretty beach bordered by pine trees.
We suggest you continue to Poé Beach where you could have lunch at the camping (not included) and enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt white sand beach.

Flight for Lifou (40 min)
The biggest, most varied, dynamic and populated of the Loyalty Islands, Lifou is the administrative center of the Island Province.
The interior of this ancient coral atoll is a vast plain invaded by forests. From the North to the South of the island, the cliffs are riddled with caves that lead to the sea, whilst in the West and East, visitors will find some magnificent beaches.
Lifou exports its own production of squash and is extremely tourist-oriented.

DAY 7 : LIFOU - Thursday

To do / to see in Lifou:
- Chateaubriand, Luengoni and Peng Beaches
- Visit the vanilla plantation at Mucaweng, a warm welcome and a wonderful site await you at this plantation in the forest
- Revisit the history of the Catholic missionaries who landed at Easo and who built a chapel in 1898 which is today an historical monument.
- Take a tour of Santal Bay, 50 kms wide, and used by whalers in 1860
- Admire the Jokin Cliffs and enjoy swimming or diving in the small coves in the area
- The Devils Cave "La Grotte du Diable"

DAY 8 : LIFOU / NOUMEA / ISLE OF PINES (2h30) - Friday

One of the most beautiful islands in the world. Its pine trees resemble the masts of sailing ships reflected in the turquoise waters. Its sand is extraordinarly fine. At the end of the 19th century, the island became the prison for 3 000 political prisoners deported from France.
The Isle of Pines snail delights the connoisseurs. Due to the diminishing numbers, it is now available on the island.

DAY 9 : ISLE OF PINES - Saturday

To do / to see on the Isle of Pines:
- Make the most of Kuto Bay and Kanumera beach, but remember that nowadays you are not allowed to visit the rock
- The natural swimming pool of Oro bay, full of wonderful tropical fishes
- The remains of the prison
- The cemetery of the political prisoners, knows as "Les Déportés"
- Take an excursion to Brosse islet or Nokanhui islet
- Visit Upi and Saint Joseph bays
- Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Church, built in 1860 with a ceiling made of all the different types of wood found in the island
- Queen Hortense's Cave
- N'ga peak, 262 meters high. Approximately one hour walking will bring you to one of the most beautiful views of the island.
- Gadgi beach
