Day 1: NOUMEA / KONE (274 km)

9 a.m.: Pick up your car rental. Meet the car rental agent in the lobby of the hotel Cat B (Peugeot 206 or Renault Clio) – Unlimited Kilometers and full insurance.
In the morning, depart to the north of the Main land. First stop will be a visit to the Niaouli Distillery at Boulouparis - The Niaouli is a common tree and its essence is used in perfumes and medicinal products.
If you are arriving close to La Foa at lunch time, turn right towards the Oua Tom tribal village. There
Marie Georgette can welcome you for a local meal!
After lunch, take the time to look around the tribe and then La Foa village before continuing on to Kone.

Day 2: KONE / HIENGHENE (120 km)

Morning at leisure. We advise you to discover the “Heart of Voh”, famous thanks to Yann Arthus Bertrand. You have the possibility to go up to the Mount Katepec to enjoy the lagoon view (book with a guide - in advance)

Take the cross road « Koné – Tiwaka » to reach the west coast.
Arriving in Hienghène from the south, you'll drive along the Lindéralique Rocks, impressive black limestone cliffs which are up to 60m high.
Arrival at Koulnoué Village at the end of the day. Think about booking your excursion for the next day.

Day 3: HIENGHENE / POINDIMIE (73 km)

Optional Excursion: from your hotel, enjoy an easy, short bushwalk, accompanied by a guide who will explain the different species of flora that you encounter along the way. The track will take you to the Lindéralique lagoon, where you'll board a motorized pirogue (or a zodiac) for a close-up visit of the famous limestone rocks and their legends.
You can also why not visit Hienghène village. Jean-Marie Tjibaou was from here, and the Museum gives a good insight into the region. You could also go to the Belvédère, the best point to see both the spectacular scenery and the rock formations in Hienghène Bay. From this vantage point you can admire not only the "Broody Hen" and the "Sphinx" in the centre of the bay and the islets and contrasting colours of the lagoon, but also Mount Panié, New Caledonia's highest peak (1,628m).
Lunch not included

In the afternoon, take the road to Poindimié wich is the central point of the East coast.
Drive along the coast road with its rivers, valleys and views over the lagoon.

Day 4: POINDIMIE / SARRAMEA (208 km)

Before crossing the mountain by way of Fruit Bat Pass (col des Roussettes), stop at the Bâ waterfall (cascade de Bâ) at Houailou and its 15m diameter natural water hole.
On arrival at Bourail, visit the beach and the "Roche Percée", a spectacular cliff pierced by caves, together with the "Bonhomme" rock formation, an enormous hard quartz monolith carved by the waves. See the view over the Baie des Tortues (Turtle Bay), a pretty beach bordered by pine trees.
We suggest you continue to Poé Beach where you could have lunch at the camping (not included) and enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt white sand beach.

Day 5: SARRAMEA / NOUMEA (121 km)

We suggest you to go to the Feillet swimming hole before your departure.
Return to Noumea and drop off your car rental before 6 p.m. at your hotel.
